I am not really sure that milestone is the proper term, but today Angie is 23 weeks 6 days pregnant. I was first put on modified at-home bed rest when I was 23 weeks 5 days pregnant with Fletcher.
Australian poet Pam Brown wrote that "Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Indulge in monumental sulks, in huffs, in snide remarks. Borrow. Break. Monopolize the bathroom. Are always underfoot. But if catastrophe should strike, sisters are there. Defending you against all comers."
I think Ms. Brown must have lived at my house growing up with my sister Angie and me (although I do have to admit that some of our run-ins were a bit more dramatic than illustrated in the quote).
My catastrophe was getting deathly ill and delivering my precious son almost four months too soon. Not even a day after I delivered my son, Angie offered to carry my next child and, after a year or so of contemplation, I took her up on it.
